About the Firm

Pick & Boydston has a general civil litigation practice with special emphasis on insurance coverage, commercial litigation, unfair trade practices, securities law, copyright law, landlord/tenant, personal injury, construction defect, employment and employment discrimination, regulatory practice and appellate practice.  Among other things, we represented Polygram Records when the Federal Trade Commission opposed its merger with Warner Brothers Records, represented Sylvania and Magnavox when Universal Studios alleged that their VCR's infringed on Universal's copyrights and have extensively litigated the area of "grey-market goods" (genuine goods imported by independent importers).

Recently, we successfully handled a major construction defect case involving the construction of an approximately 300,000 square foot warehouse.  We are currently representing a securities broker in a complex matter involving a series of failed real estate limited partnerships.  In the employment context, we recently prevailed in a complex appeal regarding insurance coverage of a sexual harassment claim and are currently litigating several sexual harassment matters and a nationwide employee's action against a multi-million dollar 401(k) plan.

We presently represent a number of clients in personal injury matters, both plaintiffs and defendants, including the civil trial of the claims of the heirs of Linda Sobek against Charles Rathbun.

With regard to regulatory matters, we counsel direct marketers as to how to conform to the applicable legal and ethical requirements.  In that regard, we have developed a great expertise related to marketing regulatory concerns and false advertising issues.  We have represented clients in dealings with numerous State Attorneys General and with local District and Prosecuting Attorneys.
